Ninja Chronicles: The Return: Cause and Effect Part 2

Knowing that we would eventually have to make a run at City Hall, I decided that it was time to do some recon and check out the place to see everything and get it all down. Using the park right next to their was the perfect location given that the front of City Hall actually faced the park in the first place.

I recorded down everything that happened over a two week's time span of the in video and audio and notes that I wrote down. The video and audio I got through the Oakley HUD shades that I wore constantly, and it was all relayed right back to my computer back at the house so that I could be able to figure everything out.

In the meantime, I was also working on Amy's new suit that she was going to be wearing when all of this took place, and I was also looking for yet another girl that I knew would be eventually included on our team, however all I could find was information on her from before we had graduated high school, nothing after that, it was like she had vanished right off the face of the earth. However right at that point, I knew that I couldn't dwell on it, even though Amy kept telling me that it was something that could take top priority after we'd solve this first problem. It turned out that the satellite was starting to get to an all-time high considering that I was going back and forth from this world to the other world, the one that I had first gone to from leaving this world, I was creating Amy's suit there considering that the tech needed was in that world and not the one that I was currently living in.

As we got more and more information, we got closer to actually doing what was needed and confronting whoever was behind everything in the first place. The only thing was that the problem was going to be with the police side of the entire building. It seemed that something had happened in this world a few years back that I didn't know about and now the police in this world operated on a completely random basis so one never knew when they were coming or going, and that was something that we were going to have to deal with. Alexis and I already had bullet absorbing energy shields that we could use, however that was the one part of Amy's suit that was going to take the longest, and I still hadn't been able to speed up the process of getting that part worked out right.

Once I figured out the energy shield problem, I had Amy come down to my lab under the house so that I could get the final parts worked out.

"You wanted to see me?" She asked as she stepped out of the clear tube leading up to the living room.

I turned to look at her. "You say that as if I ordered you here, and we both know that I didn't, so why would you say it that way. Anyway that's neither here nor there, here put this on your dominant hand's wrist." I told her handing her what appeared to be a wrist watch.

Amy took it and looked at it for a second before putting it on her right wrist. "Ok now what?" She asked.

What Amy didn't know was that the moment the band connected together at the lock point under her wrist, it was starting to read her DNA to make sure that she was the only one who could operate it. I knew at this point that not even I could be able to operate the device. "See that button on the side of the lock buckle right there, press it." I told her.

She pressed the button and a trigger unfolded sliding out into her palm. Amy was momentarily startled by what had just happened. "What the hell just happened and what is that?" She asked.

I laughed slightly since that was also the same reaction that Alexis had the first time when I had updated her suit as well. "That's the trigger to activate your new suit, just press your middle and ring finger on the trigger pad there and press it, after that the suit will activate and envelope your body and fully activate everything that you'll have with the suit." I told her.

Amy pressed the trigger and a second later she was enveloped in her suit that was mostly colored in green and red and had a white facial eye section for the head piece. Her hair was flowing from the top as designed and it looked like she had fire coming off the top of her head. I just hoped that the anti-gravity  units would actually pull through and work the way that they were supposed to in the first place. After all, Amy was supposed to be able to fly without a glider under her feet.

"Amazing, I can't believe that you did all of this." Amy stated as she looked all over her suit, suddenly she started to float off the floor and hover about a couple inches in the air. When Amy took notice of what was going on, she freaked out and dropped to the floor and crumpled down there. "What the hell?"

I dashed over and helped her back on her feet. "This suit allows you to do the one thing that I can't do without a glider, you can fly and you were starting to do that without any effort at all, though I noticed that it had been sooner than I thought. The suit is connected to you and reads what you want to do and feel like doing, but it also operates on a level that not many know about. What was it that you were thinking about when you started hovering?" I asked her.

Amy looked at me. "I wasn't thinking about anything really, I was just still amazed by the suit in the first place to see that you had finished it and had gotten everything for it working. I'm a little overwhelmed by what I'm seeing through this face piece."

I smiled. "That's your HUD or Heads Up Display, it will show you everything around to at all times, and it will let you know if there happens to be danger around you at all, and it will show the constant status of your suit at all times." I told her. "However if you're going to test out the flight part of the suit, please do it out back so that way you can hopefully have something soft to land on instead of crashing into the floor here and possibly damaging the suit. I mean it would be good considering the portal to the other world is here and it would be easier to repair, but you're going to need the open space in order to get things worked out right better than you could down here." I told her.

Both Amy and I went outside and I even showed her the button that would slip the suit back into standby mode, which Amy was surprised to find out that it was a button on the back of her wrist that had to be pressed a certain way in order for the suit to go into standby mode. After all she wouldn't want it to drop to standby right in the middle of a battle now would she?

I followed Amy up and outside of the house and explained other functions of the suit to her as well, knowing that she would need to know how the entire suit work, considering that I couldn't exactly write up a user manual for the suit. Once we made it outside, it allowed Amy the space she was going to need to test flight the suit, and since the field was active at all times, I had made sure that the suit would be safe to go in and out of the field constantly. Everything that Amy did was constantly being recorded down in the lab, and I had told her this, I wanted to make sure that anything that happened would be module and adaptable to anything that might be needed to be added to the suit later on, just like mine had been from the start. After all one never knew when one needed to make a change later on, even if it happens to be on another world.

About three hours later after Amy had tested literally everything on the suit twice (some more than that when she happened to like them most), and after she put the suit back into standby mode, she took it off and handed it back to me.

"What's this all about?" I asked her.

Amy looked at me while still holding the unit out to me. "Well I figured that you would want to run more tests on it now that I've gone and checked everything out." She told me.

I put my hand on it and her hand and gently pushed it back to her. "Sometimes you have to run before you can walk." I told her. "Keep the suit, the best way we can find out if anything needs to be done to it is from the field and this suit hasn't had the chance yet to hit the field, and it won't if you happen to give it back to me."

Amy looked at me. "Wait you want me to go out there and do what you do?" She asked.

I only smiled and never said anything before turning and heading back to the house. "Check how it works against the little things that are out there, one never knows what one will run into at any given time while they're trying to save someone." I told her before heading fully back into the house.

I turned around and watched as she put the device back on and activate the suit, a second later she was rising up into the air and disappearing over the house and heading right back into the city, though I did notice that she didn't land at all in Martinez, but flew on ward towards Concord and the outlying areas. Something told me that from that point things were going to be changing for the better.

Ninja Chronicles: The Return: Cause and Effect Part 1

Over the coming weeks as Amy got herself resituated to not only living here at the house, but also to helping me out in ways that I never thought of before, one of which was trying to find the source of why everyone hated the hell out of me. On that I doubted she would ever find the source, but one never knew, and I knew that personally from all of the worlds that I had visited.

About a month after Amy was fully settled in, she came into my office room since I had the door wide open letting everyone know that they could come talk to me if they needed to, of course at the moment there was only Alexis and Amy and that was it. However Amy didn't know the truth about Alexis and she hadn't asked, so I hadn't bothered to say anything to her on it.

"I think that I might've found something that might be the reason for the hatred that is geared directly towards you." She said as she stopped in the door way and leaned on the frame.

I turned around to face her away from my computer that I had set up, and it was displaying information on not only the dimensional worlds at the current time, but also the time lines for each of those worlds as well so that way I could monitor them and know if anything went wrong. Of course if anything did go wrong, that would be something that would be hard to pick out for someone that hadn't spent time in each of the worlds that I was now looking at. I nodded for her to continue.

"So I was looking over all of the data and information when it came to the levels of hatred that had been at the highest level when you had been here before you had left, and then the sudden drop off after you left, which took place literally the moment that you, as you put it, leaped to your first world. The hatred had been worldwide, however it was all centered right here in Contra Costa County, right in this city of Martinez California. No way in the world could that ever be a coincidence." Amy said as she looked at the note book that she had in her hand.

Despite everything that I was bringing over to this world that were more advanced than anything that was on this world at all, Amy still insisted on hand writing everything down and keeping hard copies of everything. "Well if that happens to be the case Amy, then where in town is everything centered on and located at?" I asked her.

Amy consulted her notes for a second before looking up and saying only one location. "City Hall."

Ok that right there floored the hell out of me, the one place that was the most centralized here in Martinez, and that's where all the hatred against me was literally coming from, that couldn't be right could it. "Wait you're telling me that something at City Hall is making everyone on this world hate me?" I asked her.

She looked at me. "Well I doubt that it's going to be a big poster with a camera on it saying 'Hate Alex', more likely something connected with satellites is doing it. Like a dish up on the roof connected up to a computer system there that actually doesn't belong on this world and is something way different from what you have set up anywhere here at all." Amy finished.

I couldn't seriously believe what Amy was saying, that there was some sort of computer system over at City Hall that was causing all of the world's hatred to be directed solely at me. Then I realized something. "Wait a minute, you said sudden drop off when I leaped, what do you mean by that?" I asked.

Amy looked at her notes. "I was wondering that myself so I looked at all of the records of the time, and it seems that whatever had a grip on the people completely left when you left yourself and till you came back never appeared again, like there was a sudden switch had been thrown and everyone was completely different or the lock they had was gone. I think that whatever system was set up couldn't find out and so it just shut off. When you and Alexis came back the system slowly started to wake up again and that's why the people were slowly starting to hate you again. However there was a small section of the population that was never effected by whatever was controlling the rest of the world." Amy finished explaining.

A lot had been answered right there by what she had told me, things that I didn't and hadn't thought of before I had left. I know that the hatred had been centered on me to the point that I had just hidden myself away till that lightning bolt had hit me and then I eventually made the suit and guilder that I left with, but now that I was back, I knew that I was going to have to deal with everything, not that I really wanted to, but I also knew that I had no choice in the matter when it came to the entire subject. There was now just one problem that I had to deal with and I didn't have any clue how to deal with it at all.

"Well now that we've gotten that figured out, there is one thing that we need to figure out, and that's going to be the bear of the problem. How do we get into City Hall to shut down the source of the hatred that's been affecting everyone on the planet, after all I doubt that they're going to just let me waltz right into the place and say 'Gee the system you're looking for is right this way', I mean come on here." I said.

Amy looked back at her notes. "That's something that I was also trying to figure out, and I still haven't been able to figure it out either. However I'm still working on it right now." She said as she turned and went back to her room and that had a mini laptop sized version of what I had in here.

Either way, I knew that this wasn't going to be a walk in the park, and I knew that I had my first major enemy on this world that I was going to have to confront sooner than I had thought.
